The pain is over, for now. S4’s pavement segment is complete – perhaps not the “purest” of segments when it comes to riding a fat bike – but definitely an all-out intense effort from the climb at the start, all the way through the trolley trails finish. If it wasn’t easy, don’t be alarmed. That was the goal.
Weather played a slight factor with the fastest times happening early in the week, while some rain and snow came into play mid and late-week respectively. Nevertheless, we had 270 attempts and 120 people ride the segment. Congrats to all those who attempted and finished the segment. It required a proper effort.
We’re now at the halfway point and things are just getting started. We’ve finally got a little snow and we’ll see how long it lasts. We’ve also got a couple tricks up our sleeve and some mini-awards to give in the next several weeks. Suffice to say, keep riding and keep having fun – you might win something for your efforts.

With the lack of snow and ice thus far, 3 of our 4 segments have essentially been all about powa-powa-powa. We’ll see if the single trails of Bloomer shake things up a bit. Stay tuned for updated points later tonight.
