Happy New Year!
Proud Lake was a winner of a segment. Easy navigation coupled with some nice single track (especially for fat bikes) made for a packed parking lot much of the week. Fresh snow was present heading into S2 and we had great conditions early on, with approximately 50 riders attempting the segment Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each. Another patch of Michigan weather hit though which made things wet, soggy and slowed down momentum a bit. However, we did end up with 350 total segment runs and 145 total riders attempting S2 once all was said and done.
For S3, we’re going to hold off and have a bye-week this week. The weather forecast continues to look less than ideal for much of the week. We started the series earlier this season to give us more of a buffer with timing, so we’re going to hold off this week in hopes of more consistent weather to follow.
