We got snow – real snow this time. And now thankfully, consistent cold temps. The week started off with a bang with fast time being laid down right out of the gate early in the week. We then hit some wet and less-than-ideal weather mid-week, followed by some solid snow that should finally stick around for a bit. Nearly 390 attempts on S3 with guys and gals riding in a variety of conditions – dry, wet, day, night and everything in between. A special thank you to those who helped clear trees on the segment after the big snow storm – we very much appreciate it.
With the weather, this may actually be the longest the FBC has gone without proper snow into a season, but we should now be in a good place with it “sticking” around for awhile now, with the cold temps projected for the upcoming week. With that said, we are heading to Proud Lake for S4! If you haven’t been there before, you’re in for a treat. It’s great this time of year and the segment has been properly groomed. Buckle up for a good time and the proper winter fat bike weather we’ve all been hoping for. A few quick notes:
- The segment crosses a gravel road. It’s low traffic, but keep your eyes up.
- There is one main parking lot everyone will likely use (corner of Child’s Lake Rd. and Dawson Rd). The segment itself crosses through part of it, so be mindful of where you park to ensure a clear path for those riding. It’s also a great spot to cheer on those doing a segment run.
- There are no restroom facilities. Please plan accordingly.
- Keep posting your photos and reports in our Facebook group as the week unfolds!
Cheers and good luck!
