S8 was a hit! 460+ segment runs over the course of the week and a great groomed segment for the FBC. Fast times were scattered throughout the week with things getting a little “channeled” after Saturday’s temperature bump and a tricky-to-ride groove by Sunday, but overall we had a fantastic week of riding. Thanks to all who made it out and got their riding in. We saw plenty of smiling faces on the trail and throughout the week’s Strava feed.
Points and updated standings have posted. Please check that you have credit for your runs and note that you’ll see “Cake” next to your name if you qualified for the prestigious Cold Stone cake. As always, please email us direct if you see any issues with your results.
And now as another FBC season comes to a close, we can’t help but look back on our good fortunes with the weather this season. No bye weeks needed, no pavement segments were necessary – and plenty of snow throughout. It may be cliche as anything, but thank you for participating and doing this challenge with us. The comradery and vibe throughout these eight weeks is sometimes hard to put into words, but it’s awesome. From bikes, to cakes, to adventure, to challenges in pushing yourself – and even as we found out, love and romance! It sure is a great group of Michigan guys and gals we have here that have made the Fat Bike Challenge what it is today. So thank you, again.
As we noted in the socials, the FBC post-season awards party will be this coming Saturday. Stay tuned for more details. Hopefully we’ll see you all there!
Cheers!
