Merry Christmas Eve! We had a great start to the series with over 500 segment attempts at Orion Oaks throughout the week, more than double what we had last year. The weather wasn’t perfect but it was good enough to put in fast runs both early and late in the week. Considering the up and down weather, we’d consider S1 a success to get FBC ’24 kicked off, plus the fact that we’re over 200 strong in participants which should make for a bunch of upcoming fun.
This will be short and sweet here with the big fella in the red hat arriving soon, but we’re going to do a bye this week and push S2 to the following week. Couple the holiday week along with rain in the forecast for the next few days and we’d rather aim for a solid week of riding with consistent colder temps if we can. We also realize none of us want to do a pavement-based segment unless there is no other option. So enjoy your Christmas, holiday and New Years (eve). Look for the first update of points to show on the site Monday or Tuesday.
Lastly, don’t forget – we drop the lowest two rounds from the scoring and it’s a long season, so no one is out of anything yet when it comes to the standings/points within each class.
